Despite his acting ability, what made Holmes famous was the reported size of his penis. At the start of his cinematic career, Holmes was widely publicized as having a penis ranging from 12.5 to 15 inches (31.8 - 38.1 cm), though adult stars routinely exagerate their measurements. Further, in his early loops the taller-than-average Holmes (who stood 6'2"
performed with a many women who were rather short, about 5'2" (~157cm) in height or less; this is another possible source of the variations in measurements.
"Regardless, the larger figures are certainly popular myths. Holmes' first wife recalled him claiming to be 10 inches (25.4 cm) when he first measured himself, though the reliability of self-measurement is notoriously suspect. A recent attempt at discerning his length by comparing images of his penis to images of his other body parts produced a figure of 8.75" (22.23 cm). However, this estimate contains a minor flaw in that Holmes' body was not as normally proportional when compared to accepted medical and military medical standards - specifically, his forearms were approximately 2" (2.54cm) longer than the standard, and both femurs and tibias were longer by the same proportion. This would account for a variance from the above figure by about 1/4 inch.
Without access to a full coroner's report - much which is still sealed and exempt from an FOIA request - is likely that the true figure will never be known."
