24. Damn I missed all those last night

because I decided to go to bed at a decent hour. Sad to see Lisicki out....and definitely sad to see Sock out.

I watched Hewitt's last ever match last night. It was a good match, but straight sets, and god help me, when they gave him his farewell on Rod Laver Arena, including a video package featuring Federer, Nadal, Murray, and Kyrgios, I teared up a little bit. And I don't even like him a little bit. But it feels like he's been around forever and it's like saying goodbye to a part of my own history.

Because I'm a total nerd, I also watched Hingis-Mirza clobber a pair of tomato cans in women's doubles. They have now won 31 matches in a row, dating back to I think Cincinnati last summer. It's the longest streak of victories in women's doubles since the early 90s, and they really look virtually unbeatable, but it's nowhere near the record Navratilova and Shriver had back in the day. I think they won more than 100 consecutive matches at one point.
