It's not even just limited to schools and sports. Look at Uber. Uber just fired 20 people related to sexual harassment. In that initial group was not Eric Alexander who got the medical records of a woman who was raped by her Uber driver in India and showed those records to multiple other executives at Uber. It wasn't until the website recode.com asked Uber about it, that the guy was fired.

Violence (sexual or otherwise), particularly against women, plagues our species. The solution isn't just going to schools with sports teams and spanking them. It's bigger than that.
