southcentral and southeast - one summer we were on our way back from visiting friends in Homer, and were on the motorcycle (standard summer travel, shine or rain). One flew right along with us for over 2 miles, just off to the left. We think it was using bike noise to hunt up shrews or mice....but maybe liked the music we were blasting on that dismal stretch of road!
