Injured bald eagle discovered on Floresville ranch, game warden says [View all]

A rancher in Floresville, about 20 miles southeast of San Antonio, found a bald eagle with an injured wing on his property Thursday, he and game warden officials told mySA.com.

Game wardens took the bald eagle, named "Mike," to Last Chance Forever, a bird of prey conservancy on San Antonio's North Side for treatment. His current status is unknown.

Jason Peeler, the co-owner of Peeler Ranch with his wife, Marianna, found the injured bird at about 4 p.m. on his property on FM 539. The eagle, which has visited his ranch almost every winter for the past five years, was walking along the side of a road with a broken wing.
