17. Thank you, for the descriptive diagram of the gold finch

There were a couple on the feeder a couple of weeks ago when, winter storm, hit our area in eastern NC. We got a measly 3 inches of snow, that was gone in a couple of days. Temperatures were in the teens and low twenties, so ready and plentiful sunflower seeds were probably an oasis.

It was the first time we had goldfinches at the feeders, in the 8 years since moved here. They flitted around the feeder among the regulars, like tufted titmouse, chickadees, house finch, nuthatches, cardinals, hairy woodpeckers, and beyond. Once the days warmed up they disappeared.
