...and I don't plan on getting rid of it, I have to agree that I think you're better off going with the new 10/22 take down. I've heard nothing but good things about it, and while it's take down size is still a bit larger than the AR-7, the advantages of the 10/22 platform make it worth it. It also comes with a nice carrying case.
