Tacos with pico degallo & fajita over a mesquite fire, along with pork chops & potatoes-in-the-coals under dense stars and mid-40 temps.

Sat under a tree and saw a big doe who wouldn't stay still long enough to line up a shot, and disappeared into cedar. But such deliberate behavior meant only one thing: A buck was quaffing in her precious bodily essence. He was even more deliberate, and wouldn't respond to my "ba-a-a-a" sounds, but evidently he took the doe's warning and froze unadvisedly in a nice clearing while I wallowed into position for a textbook broadside shot; recovered quickly 50 yds away. Now, undergoing "redneck aging" out on the patio!
