Ed Miliband has revealed that his relationship with the Jewish community has grown and deepened in the years since he became leader of the Labour Party.

He told guests at the Community Security Trust’s annual dinner on Wednesday: “I feel more part of the Jewish community than at any other time in my life”....

There was further praise for the “extraordinary contribution” of British Jews to “every part of our society”. ...

(And more at link).

It should be remembered that the Express is one of our most right-wing tabloids and hates Miliband and all things Labour.

Disraeli was ethnically Jewish, but was a convert to Christianity, and did not identify with Jewish culture, so it is a little ambiguous whether he would have called himself a 'Jewish Prime Minister'. Miliband is atheist/agnostic, but identifies culturally with Jews to a far greater extent than Disraeli did.

Hope he gets to be Prime Minister next year! (because he's Labour, not because he's atheist and ethnically Jewish, though I am all three of these things)
