My background is Liberal Christian -- you know, the kind who don't take the Bible as a literal truth, who interpret scripture in a fashion that adheres to and conforms with their system of beliefs, and who are profoundly hurt when some fundie throws the accusation, "You're not a *true* Christian" in their face. And they are forgiving and kind, but believe in turn that the fundies are the ones who are wrong headed. And you know what? Both of those factions are equally convinced that *they* are the ones who understand the mind of God. Faith. You can't argue with it. You can't measure it or weigh it. You can only believe it.

Or not.

I choose not.

Also, I am respectful of my family's faith. I demand the same courtesy in return.

And don't call me dearie.
