65. Absolutely! Just as Democratic politics is larger than the NDP

Catholicism has always been larger. The word means universal. But even in the context of Roman Catholicism, the religion is bigger than the Vatican, or even the Holy See. There are many devout catholics who disagree with the Vatican on a multitude of issues that have nothing, or little to do with the basic tenets of catholicism.
The Vatican does not own the religion, anymore than the government owns the peope.
