We've probably already had a athiest president who was a closeted atheist without anyone finding out. As for a open atheist, I (sadly) doubt it will happen for this decade - at the earliest, we might get one for the 2036 or the 2040 Presidental elections as the Millennials begin to take charge of the government and economy.
