She apparently believes that she is deputized, which she is not, and has refused an attorney. These are things one generally does not see in a sane person, though they aren't definitive. Also the writing of gibberish on her mailbox is a worrisome sign.

More information will probably come out, but I'm going to bet against your suspicion.
