(11,181 posts)Some people pick isolated stories to justify their intolerance, regardless of their belief in a deity. Cartoonist is a prime example and if you agree with his outrageous statement, then you are another.
How does the NT support slavery? Give me a quote. How does Genesis support slavery?
Now, if you want a document that does support slavery, then you need look no further than your wonderful Constitution. In the 72 years between the election of George Washington and the election of Abraham Lincoln, 50 of those years had a slaveholder as president of the United States, and, for that whole period of time, there was never a person elected to a second term who was not a slaveholder.
Looks like slavery was OK back in the day. Should the bible be amended, like the Constitution? Should we edit all the books to change history? Or should we move on and deal with what folk actually believe today?
