3. Couldn't wear slacks for 12 years in U.S. public school. Hated dresses.

Especially when it was cold. They tried to ban long dresses on girls, and I don't know why. They were more worried about making sure our knees showing didn't set off lustful thoughts in boys, and that the boys' hair didn't fall over their ears, than they were about educating us. It was about control.
