Some might frame it thus, but the RCC is not a monolith, it is composed of many millions of believers. And like any large group, opinions and politics vary. It is easy to focus solely on negatives, and this is useful if one has a particular narrative to push, but any nuanced examination will reveal that reality is far different from any simple narrative.


The use of the word might shows that this is not a declarative statement.

And I did not say "time and time again, people have said......"
