2. partly due to population growth in Muslim countries

established western countries tend to have fewer children as the cost per child increases dramatically in the past century plus a move from agriculture to industrial to service/tech economies place more emphasis on expensive education and longer "adolescence" (no longer considered an adult at 14 or 16... or even 18).

As Muslim countries such as Indonesia and Pakistan move to less rural / agriculture I expect their population growth to slow (not to mention a lack of resources to fuel population growth).
