because there are no leaders to round up and put in jail. 
As you said, the Plutocrats can't "demonize or vilify" the leaders, because there aren't any. We are all the leaders. 
And, yeah, I think the grow-your-own food revolution is part of it. Helping each other DIY, helping each other unhook from/release dependence on a system that keeps us dependent on greedy powers who do not have anyone's welfare at heart, except lining their wallets at our expense.
Ken Keasey said years ago (at a rally for The Vietnam Day Committee) that he felt we all just needed to turn our backs on The Establishment (the current system of war and greed), and just say f#ck it. Go away, stop supporting The Establishment, create the world we want to live in.
A HUGE job...we are the ones that we've been waiting for (and we are the ones The Establishment warned us about).
