we put them on our "seasonal table" - a small table, covered with a cloth coloured for the church seasons, and where we put things the children gathered each season: autumn leaves, seed pods, spring flowers, seashells, etc. We also put up displays suitable for church festivals, such as the palm leaves, the Advent calendar, etc.

Now my children are grown, we don't have a seasonal table any longer (I miss it!), so I leave the leaves at the church to be burnt for next year's Ash Wednesday. Recycling.
