2. It depends on the kid, but there's a gang undertone to it.

Some gangs use them as symbols the kids can wear everywhere, including school, because they're a religious symbol that cannot be prohibited. At least, that's what my gangbangers explained to me last year when I told them that rosaries aren't necklaces and shouldn't be worn as such.

I don't like it. It's not a necklace.
