social pecking order. Humans by nature are hierarchal, as any social scientist can tell you. People don't check human nature at the door. If you're comfortable where you are, I'm genuinely glad. But ask yourself this: is it due in part to a real lack of social politics in your congregation, or might you perhaps be high up the ladder enough that you can't see the problem.

Not sure what you're getting at. Pterodactyl Feb 2014 #11
Church politics can be just as vicious as any other kind. That's what I'm getting at. IrishAyes Feb 2014 #12
Well, I was at church today and it was more like a bunch of people praying together than a war zone. Pterodactyl Feb 2014 #13

Actually, I live in a rural-suburban area, with farms - and lots of churches. Pterodactyl Feb 2014 #15
Something I seem to know just as well if not likely better than you. Your initial response to me? IrishAyes Feb 2014 #16
My initial post was to the question posted. Pterodactyl Feb 2014 #17
Yes you were - with far too broad a brush. Think about that next time. IrishAyes Feb 2014 #18
You should talk to your priest about it and attend when you can. Pterodactyl Feb 2014 #19
It's best to give others the benefit of the doubt as to their intentions re Mass attendance. No Vested Interest Feb 2014 #20
