5. The interior scenes were at Old St. Patrick's

The scenes outside the church were shot at St. Joachim and St. Anne in the Pleasant Plains section of Staten Island, New York.



What's nice is that the film preserves how the church originally looked. Most of the church was destroyed in a fire in 1973 however the facade was left standing. A new church was built on the same site incorporating the original facade and steeple.
