1. It seems as if the Devil has indeed infiltrated the Church

Paul Ryan's Randian idol worship, Opus Dei, the Legion of Christ--whose founder not only fathered kids out of wedlock and sexually abused women and children, but also rejected confession and absolution on his death bed, thereby probably roasting in Hell--are proof positive. The rise of right-wing clerics obsessed with controlling the sex lives of others, while aiding and abetting child molesters in their ranks, driving out many devout Catholics from the Church on contrived charges of defying orthodoxy (does LCWR ring a bell?) is another piece of evidence that the Devil is hard at work ruining souls.
