3. Agreed that would be neat. However...

I also hope they don't pour too much more money into it either. The ISS has very little scientific value, it's much more a political statement. So much more real research could be done with that money. I for one would love to see a massive increase in robotic space exploration funding. There's really no reason to send humans anywhere right now except for the emotional and political gains. I don't deny the emotional side of it though. I'd love to see man walk on mars in my life time. But I don't have any illusions that it would be money inefficiently spent from a science return perspective.
