I have a few rogue Sugar and Red Maples (sugars are 2nd only to white oaks for Shiitakes) that have been invading my White Pine and Red Pine groves. I trim/harvest them out and buy spore plugs from Amazon.

Cut, drill, hammer, wax and set aside for next years harvest.

Easy peasy...
