10,000 for the interbreeding of Neanderthals, there occurred a single point mutation; blonde hair/blue eyes. This allowed the migrating humans that were settling Northern Europe to be able to convert the lessening sun's rays to vitamin D. Prior to this that ability had been less than optimal. That is why a lot of darker skinned people who live in the northern climes have more SAD, they can't convert the sun's rays to that vitamin D and the resultant chemical mishmash causes depression and a host of other problems.
