...about the Kartrashians, and you live here? (I live in LA too. Though probably not considered a true Angeleno since I live in the SF Valley.

I like a lot of British TV myself. Recently watched the mini-series "G.B.H," which co-starred Michael Palin...speaking of the Pythons. Plot revolved around British local politics in the 1970s. Interesting because I know nothing about the subject. The show never explains what "GBH" stands for, but probably "Grievous Bodily Harm."

If you want something more...grim but really good, check out the Red Riding Trilogy from 2009. Three-part mini-series with episodes set in 1974, 1980 and 1983. Fictionalized accounts of some real crimes going on in Yorkshire back then, like the Moors Murders and the Yorkshire Ripper.
Roger Ebert called it "an immersive experience" and I agree with him - best to make a barrel of popcorn, mainline soda intravenously, and watch the whole 5+ hour trilogy in one sitting.
