(18,312 posts)looking for any little thing to get hidden. I think that post there makes, like, the 5th post (that I'm aware of) this week that was alerted for bullshit, and saved from a hide by a great margin.
I think that the "if a jury dismisses your alert 0-6, you can't alert for 24 hours" rule is great. I'd go one further and say "if a jury dismissed, by any margin, 3 consecutive alerts, then you can't alert for 1 month.
I mean, I've alerted on clear rule violations that have been shot down--I think i've only had 1 0-6 in my history of alerting. But I've never gotten 3 shot down in a row. I think I may have gotten, at most, 5 alerts ever that didn't go my way. I'm not bragging, I'm just saying that one can alert on everything in a shot-gun manner, in the hopes that something sticks, or one can actual alert on posts that really do violate the TOS of DU. Ones that you don't need a secret decoder ring to figure out.
The people alerting on my posts haven't figure that out.
