False Equivalence: stop using it as an excuse. [View all]
Why must so many people confuse a race with a religion ? ? ?
There seems to be an intentional use of this 'False Equivalence' by so many to dishonestly accuse someone of being racist, when they know very well that race has nothing to do with it.
Many muslims are Arabic, some are from Iraq, some are from Denmark, some are immigrants, some are white, some are black, some are American, some are Chinese, they can even be combinations of all these, or others.
All of these practice islam so there is absolutely no need, or rationale to equate their nationality, race, or ethnicity to their spiritual or religious beliefs. Some people like to take advantage of this fallacy in order to insist otherwise,
and often have their own divisive political, religious, or racist motivations to insult, degrade, or otherwise deride others for calling attention to this fact. I'm sure this also happens with other
religions/races/nationalities in similar contexts. Just because you practice a certain religion does not mean you are necessarily a certain race and vice-versa. So please take time to understand the difference, and stop comparing apples to oranges, and oranges to onions. You already know better.
