It's right there. In plain sight. Death to those who insult the Prophet. It certainly is part of the religion.

Just like death for adultery is part of Christianity. It's just that Christianity doesn't enforce that penalty anymore, even if there are a few fringe Christian groups who advocate for penalties like that. Fortunately they don't spawn vigilantes who go off killing adulterers because their holy book says to do it.

He's right. Denying that killing is part of Islam is not being honest.

"Let's try to be honest," he says at the very end. Good idea, so we can all recoil at your medieval ways and reject it en masse.
