with parking, that is.

The apartment complex where I live with my wonderful wife has reserved parking for all residents and several non-reserved spaces for guests. In the first few months of living there, all sorts of people would park in our spaces. We were told not to confront these individuals, but to report them to the office, which we did. Things got better, and we have not had anyone parking in our spaces in months now.

Except for our next-door neighbor. She has the parking space next to one of ours. She is a total fucking moron: about 25 years old, gorgeous, and simply must be a kept woman with a sugar daddy. I accidentally received some of her mail once and opened it not thinking, and saw her paystub inside. She does not make enough money to live in this complex.

Anyway, she cannot park worth a shit. Almost every day, she parks either on the line between the spaces or actually OVER the line into our space. Without fail. It is really aggravating. We figure, she's young and stupid (like we were at her age), so we have not gotten too upset about it (other than an occasional rapidly-opened car door that "accidentally" makes a ding in her car. Oops!)

We are both over 50. We've seen our share of young adult idiots. They drive too fast, are always in a hurry, are always on the phone or texting in their cars, or always on the phone in the garage or in the hallway, and just can't be bothered to act responsibly. Someone of a more unbalanced disposition, like Hicks, could easily be tipped over the edge and do something extreme to this woman.

So, I can understand the anger about parking spaces, especially if the offenders are very young. They just don't really seem to give a shit. Still, of course, this anger does not justify violence. But parking disputes have often escalated into violence in this city.
