Showing Original Post only (View all)Ben Carson: Religion Is Needed To Test Scientific Theories In Case 'It's Just Propaganda' [View all]
Ah, the final authority, a non-practicing medical doctor making more on his speaking tour than actually practicing medicine.
We heathens should be listening to him, amIright?

"I find, a very good measure of correlation between my religious beliefs and my scientific beliefs -- people say, how can you be a scientist, how can you be a surgeon if you don't believe in certain things?" he continued. "Maybe those things aren't scientific. Maybe it's just propaganda."
Rich people becoming Republicans never astounds me, they want to keep all they earn, not a penny to the government that helped them get there.
But when they are supposedly educated in scientific disciplines, it really astounds me that they willingly give up all that sense of the nature of scientific inquiry and return to mythology as their basic method for "validation" of fact. What "validation" method does religion ever offer? Or, maybe, in this guy's case, he's just trying to be a geinius of pulling the wool over everybody's eyes in order to secure a well-paying speaking tour circuit for the next 30 years. He thinks he can get more $$ out of stupid people listening to him speaking for 30 minutes than he can get trying to practice medicine in America today, and he's probably right; lots of stupid people will pay to hear him speak.
Is he an actual practicing medical doctor or just a super crafty con artist who was smart enough to get through medical school and practice medicine for a few years before he found a higher-paying way out?
As someone else pointed out: "Ben Carson is a scam and an opportunist. He spoon-feeds his fans what they want to hear, like any other entertainer." I think Ben just found a better-paying job than being an actual pediatric surgeon, by being a Republican bullshit slinger.
Knowing this is offensive to the 12-13 very devoutly religious people who lurk and browse this thread, and are offended by certain words when applied to people who are believers: the two words "delusional" and "arrogant" both apply to this Carson guy. He is both. He uses religion to win converts, and has the arrogance high enough to deny the value of logical and scientific inquiry, all to make more money for himself, a kind of black Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson, but a bit younger and he was gifted with a much better educational opportunity which he threw away in order to sling this bullshit for greater profit.

OP
but it takes more than silly religious bullshit to pull the wool over our eyes.
