11. I was maybe 13 or 14 when we saw it

and I did have nightmares.

I agree it was abuse but then, most everything they did to us was abuse. I still maintain my stepfather brought us into that religion simply because they loved and encouraged beating the shit out of kids. No spare rods at my house.

Watching that movie was an hour free of getting beat.
