Funny things I learned in church

44. I never went to church formally, but I'd accompany my friends.

I remember being about 15, and hearing some idiot dude talking about "Original Sin" and saying that Eve is responsible for the fact that women experience such pain during childbirth--so we can always understand that it's a chick's fault we don't live in Paradise anymore. I got up and walked out--even then I knew Institutionalized Misogyny when I heard it.

I thought about it later, once I learned that becoming bipeds changed the shape of our pelvises and made it more difficult to pass a Big Brained Baby Head thru the birth canal. But let's not confuse these idiots with science or anything.

Too bad, it's 42 years later and there's still Patriarchal religious misogyny. Now more than ever--reinforcing my certainty NEVER to give an inch to these crazies and their stupid mythology!
