4. For those who don't know, I am Latina...

I think I need to first state that so you might understand what my emotions were listening to that.

So I listen to her all the way through and I felt like her revelation at that age was really---they love the same way we do.

That is the gist of what she explained.

They were adorable children and when their parents and older siblings showed up, they ran to them with their arms wide open like...like....like...gosh, they love them. I did that too, when I was a small adorable child.

I didn't get the real impact of her realizing she had white privilege...


But I will add, her realization that the children loved their parents like she loved hers is hugely important. This is how we stop separating out different groups of people. It just really wasn't a white privilege moment unless she thought white privilege includes that they love their parents and the others cannot.
