(11,366 posts)38. A. A payroll tax by definition includes employers (like Medicare does not)
and B. It wouldn't be that much. Estimates are we pay 15 percent of our earnings now for health insurance. The tax would be about 2 to 5 percent, saving people 10 to 13 percent of their income.

It also eliminates insurance premiums, thus saving thousands of dollars per household.
