Notes from the trenches: Examples why Romney will lose. [View all]

I've noticed a few things here that lead me to believe Obama will win a 2nd term.

1. WORK: The VP's here who always loudly talk GOP 'news' have gone silent. Not a peep. No mention of the convention, or politics in general. My cube mates who listen to Rush on their phones every day (and giggle) have completely gone silent on the election. Normally they talk every morning for 30 minutes about why Obama hates America. Nothing.

I like to put political cartoons showing Romney/GOP as idiots in the break room. Normally they are in the trash within 10 minutes. Today there are 3 on the table, and 1 pinned to the corkboard.

2. FAMILY: My sister is severely pro-life. It's the only reason she votes GOP. Yesterday she said she does not care for Romney, as he seems out of touch. I ran through a list of items; from the environment to equal pay. At the end I pronounced "You are a liberal" - she AGREED. I also told her Obama has done more to stop abortions than any GOP'er - via help and assistance to pregnant women. "Want to stop abortion - make it easier to have a child" - she agreed again.

My father: Still thinks Obama is a muslim, and probably owns Rush Limbaugh underwear. He's 86 with Alzheimer's and probably won't vote anyway.

My mother: A lifelong Republican. Is voting for Obama. I didn't pry into it, just said "you make me proud mom"

The tide is turning, at least from where I sit.
