In reply to the discussion: Sanders' campaign stands by book blurb knocking Obama [View all]Nanjeanne
(6,491 posts)David Plouffe is tweeting it like a good soldier and the Clintonites are pushing it like it means something.
The quote from Sanders is perfectly respectful and truthful. Are we not allowed to ask our leaders to be better? Sanders has said over and over that he appreciates what Pres Obama has done. Is it wrong to want the next President to push progressives ideas more strongly if possible?
Bill Press also wrote an excellent book called "The Obama Hate Machine - all about the horrible lies and distortions used by the right-wing media and ignored by the corporate mainstream media against President Obama. I guess Plouffe didn't have a problem with Bill when he wrote that one.
I wonder how many people have actually read the book they are all complaining about. It's what many of us here have spoken about - lots of good things in the Obama years. But still an increasing of income equality, a stagnation of workers wages, the TPP, etc. Obama campaigned on lots of stuff that many of us voted for him for. I myself have my disappointments. Not that I would have preferred Clinton - no way. But seriously, this book is not a slam job against Obama. It's an analysis of what was done - and what wasn't.
