(9,497 posts)The h camp seems to like us minorities when we vote for their candidate. They don't seem to want to help our communities, keep people here or care about the food supply coming into our communities. They just like us to show up and vote for their candidates.
Well, my issues are larger than just my ethnicity. I care about children in public schools even though I don't have any. I care about fracking in Oklahoma even though I live in Washington state. I care about police brutalization and murder of minorities, okay that one does affect my people as well as other people. I care that kids are saddled into debt for college making it near impossible for them to own a home or get ahead because they have become indentured to the Financial Overlords.
I give a sh*t about this planet, this country and ALL the people who are behind the 8 ball without real representation for change.
But I will say, I care that my grandmother and I waiting at the airport for my luggage was called "Spicks". I care that she left school after the 8th grade and it didn't matter to the greater community that she would be under educated. I hate that my darker skinned brother was stopped for a "traffic violation" outside of Midland, Texas and spent a week without being charged and no phone call to a lawyer. At least he came out breathing.
I have little faith that h sees us as anything else as a photo op or a group of voters to count on instead of really truly effecting change for.
