Million dollar question and I believe it has multiple answers. Many Paul supporters, like H A Goodman, care about economics only. They believe Sanders will not have any impact in many areas but do believe he will create chaos. They believe that is necessary for them to get traction. They know Sanders will have zero success with his healthcare plans so simply aren't worried about them. A founding thought of current libertarian economic ideas is that they stand no chance without destruction of the current system.

I believe their are other small groups that believe we must go down in order to be built up in their eyes. They wrongly see Sanders as a way to get to their means. Most groups that are more fringe feel this way. That everyone will simply recognize their brilliance once it all collapses. They couldn't be more wrong but when you are an outlier in the country it is about all you can hang your hat on.
