There's this thing called Vision, without which NOTHING ever gets done. Followed up by Leadership which is the spark that ignites the third necessary element...Action. How long did it take for LGBT rights? As I recall, the final word was from none other than PBO. I saw that speech, and from there on...well, you know what happened...

Social Security was FDR "pandering? That's what they said then.

The same is true for "no, we can't"...that's "bringing to heel" any progress or forward motion and surely requires nothing more spectacular than looking to the past. That used to be a Republican value. It's morphed into the Democratic Party and I Want My Party Back.

Yes, we can...Start to move in the direction that most all other civilized and some so-called uncivilizaed nations see as Human Rights.
