In my area, the party itself remains impartial in the primaries.
To answer your first remark, I am most certainly not new to politics. You draw that conclusion, apparently from the customs of your area.

There are 50 wards in Chicago. As far as I can tell, only 2 have endorsed a presidential candidate.
