my comment (bernie as robin hood) to the NYTimes (to a comment posted) [View all]

If you think Bernie is Robin Hood -- stealing from the rich, to give to the poor -- then why do you think many other countries have (relatively) free health-care and college education -- but not the United States?

People claiming that Bernie is too simplistic -- don't seem to explain the details of why the United States is behind so many countries in caring for their people.

Their main refrain: the Republicans won't let us take care of our poor, weak, vulnerable, and young people, who want health-care and education without having to declare bankruptcy.

Why have Democrats swallowed the "it can't be done" philosophy?

I think, mainly because the Clintons said that Obama was a dreamer when he beat them for the presidency in 2008 -- and now the Clintons try to convince people that putting the Clintons back in the White House will be Obama's third-term.

The Clintons did many good things for American democracy, but they've become political chameleons who will say anything to please any group -- not to mention their decades of never-ending cover-up dramas, from sex, to money, to wars.

Good luck trashing Bernie's America of economic and cultural equality! You'll need it if the Clintons regain the White House.
