2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: Without Women and Minority Support, Hillary Would Be Losing Badly To Bernie [View all]BainsBane
(57,771 posts)109. That's right. The majority matters
Being white and male make your vote more valuable than anyone else anymore.
He hasn't been making gains. He lost African American 25-75; he got about 36% of the Latino vote. If that's an inroad, it's not anywhere near enough to pull off a victory. Clinton got 50% of the white vote. She also got 50% of the male vote, but in each of those categories is included the votes of people you think less important. The votes of the majority matter, not just white men. America is a diverse nation, and voters do not want to turn the clock back to when white men alone were able to determine political leaders.
Thank you for expressing honestly what this election is truly about.
