Ultimately, every method in which you try to graft super delegates onto a particular preordained path, whether it be supporting the popular vote nationally, delegate count nationally, the popular vote or delegate count of a state, or go granular right down to the district, every one of those methods is merely an argument for why we shouldn't have super delegates at all, and I agree that we should't. However, their expressed purpose is to go with what's good for the party. It'd definitely non-democratic and that's why I disagree with having them even though they just happen to be supporting my candidate, but that remains their purpose. Any attempt to graft them to another metric simply makes the argument that we should just use the metric we already have: pledged delegates.
