not just of West Virginians but most of Appalachia. If it wewn't for the hill people there probably would'nt be a United States. I suggest you read Jeff Biggers "United Styates of Appallachia"The Scot/ Irish who are the heart and soul of Appalichia never back down from a fight but they're also smart enough not to take on a fight they can't or don't need to win.
There may be a problem with people being cowed to accept their explotation as something they cannot fight but I expect you could see the same thing all around the world.
