In reply to the discussion: What this says about Sanders speaks volumes [View all]CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)Though he constantly complained about both parties in equal measure, at least he caucused with and usually voted with the Democrats.
Until recently had no problems with him as a candidate - he was pushing important issues. My problems with him began when he started believing he could win, but that was also somewhat understandable.
Recently however he has grown shrill and attacked the Democratic Party when it should have occurred to him it was time to start preparing his followers for a transition to the Party's eventual nominee. Is appointment of Cornel West to platform committee is the last straw for me.
If Sanders continues down this road, if a substantial Democratic candidate declared that he would run against Sanders for his Senatorial position in Vermont, I would contribute substantially to that opponent's campaign. Again, if he continues down that road I certainly would not be upset if after the election the Democratic caucus in the Senate strips Sanders of not only his chairmanships, but also his committee assignments.
Enough is enough!
