Instead, it's rebranded as a bunch of sit-at-home moochers expecting free handouts from the government.

It's better those handouts go to private prisons, the defense industry, Big Oil, and Big PhRMA. After all, they are the "job producers" and aren't a drag on the economy. (Dang, that sounds like FOX News)

My one sister said that she had to pay for college and it wasn't that bad, back when the minimum was $2.65? or something. But, when she went, the state school was mostly funded by the government and she had to only pay $100 a credit hour. She graduated right before college costs started to skyrocket in the 1980's. Minimum wage goes up 3.5 times, but that same tuition leapfrogged that. Not to mention, it was easier to find jobs that paid higher thanminimum, with a college degree. Now, you're lucky if Cotsco is hiring, else it's Wal*Mart.
