the home owner has put a roof over his head for 30 years for the cost of a monthly mortgage that is probably less than rent he would have been paying without taking the loan.
At the end of 30 years he most likely has a home worth at least $200k that he can retrieve and use to continue his life.
IOW, bullshit analogy.
