(3,702 posts)We are a major player on the international stage - militarily, economically, culturally, etc. Just because many Americans don't pay attention to global affairs doesn't mean the rest of the world is as oblivious.
I seriously believe Trump being elected (no way he would actually serve his full term - he doesn't have the attention span) would have major impacts on the world financial markets, our credit rating, hell even our credibility is going to take a nose dive.
How the hell would we be able to negotiate trade deals after all the xenophobic rhetoric? Even if Trump stepped down the next day, the damage would be done. It's one thing to be a narcissistic egomaniac, its another thing to have a country full of people that vote for him.
I understand that there are people who hate Clinton and are tearing their hair out, comparing her to Trump and vowing to vote for anyone but her "to send a message". Well that message isn't really going to be seen to be about Clinton. If Trump wins (shudder) - the rest of the world won't be saying "See the American people have voted and they reject Clinton and her policies" - nope they are going to be saying "WTF, the American people support and approve of Trump and all he stands for"
